The donation of an award or scholarship can honour the contributions of Loreto alumnae and former families to our School, recognise the commitment and achievement of current students and forge inter-generational connections among our vast Loreto network. We acknowledge the Burgett family, whose engagement with the Loreto Normanhurst community lives on in their annual recognition of achievement and service among current students.

Angela Burgett attended Loreto Normanhurst in her senior years as a boarder from Taree, graduating in 1998. She participated in all ares of school life, and is particularly remembered for her academic excellence and as an accompanist for the boarder choir at Music Festival. After graduating, Angela completed a degree in nursing and then in medicine, specialising in Emergency Medicine and Paediatrics.

The perpetual Burgett Award is donated by Angela's parents, Les and Louise Burgett, and was inaugurated in 2001.

It is presented to a Year 11 boarder who demonstrates high academic achievement and significant contribution to the life of the school and boarding school. In 2020, the Burgett Award was received by Georgia Cluff in recognition of her academic drive, enthusiastic leadership in Boarding and participation across multiple areas of extra-curricular. Previous recipients include Sarah Palmer ('15) and Sophie Payten ('10) who have also excelled in their respective fields since graduation and have continued to maintain a strong connection with our community.

We deeply appreciate those families that support our current students with these acknowledgements. If you would like to donate an award in honour of a family member, please contact Ms Liane Giuliano, Director of Philanthropy and Community Engagement at lgiuliano@loretonh.nsw.edu.au
