Alumnae News

Launched in 2015, The Mary Word is the digital student newspaper run entirely by current Normo girls. The most recent issue was published in the week of the 2021 Music Festival and covered all things musical, including an exclusive interview with folktronica artist and LN alumna, Gordi (Sophie Payten, '10).

Since graduating in 2010, Sophie has been nominated for an ARIA, completed her medical degree and toured nationally and internationally, collaborating with the likes of Troye Sivan, Bon Iver, Sam Smith, Of Monsters And Men and more.

Arabella and Feronia from Year 11 caught up with Sophie to discuss her time boarding at Loreto Normanhurst, how she strikes a balance between music and medicine, and her career highlights so far.
