Welcome to LN Archives

Since its establishment in 1897 as "Loretto Convent Hornsby," Loreto Normanhurst has been a cherished institution, fostering a vibrant community of students, staff, and alumnae. From its humble beginnings with 15 boarders and 9 Loreto sisters, the school has grown to welcome thousands of "Normo" day girls and boys, along with boarders, many of whom later return as staff, parents, or dedicated members of our associations.

At the heart of preserving our rich heritage lies the Loreto Normanhurst Archives, meticulously curated by our dedicated Records Manager. Spanning 126 years of history, our collection encompasses a diverse array of items, including:

  • Photographs, slides, audio cassettes, and videos
  • Oral history recordings capturing the voices of our community
  • Uniforms, hats, and personal artifacts
  • School magazines, diaries, and registers

We invite you to delve into our archives, exploring the memories and stories that have shaped Loreto Normanhurst throughout its remarkable journey. As you engage with these historical treasures, we hope you'll find moments of reflection and connection to your own part in the Loreto Normanhurst narrative.

Welcome to the LN Archives.
