Thank You!

Thank you to everyone who helped support our Christmas Bursary Appeal, with a special thanks to our Ex-Students' Association for their generous matched funding.

Together we raised a total of $113,513!

We are delighted to be able to provide 3 more students with a Loreto Normanhurst education through our bursary program.

Open Day

We had such a wonderful day on Open Day and we thank all who joined us to make the day a huge success particularly the members of the Ex-Students' Association for their attendance and warm welcome to new families and for helping to sell the beautiful 'Open Table' cookbook. To purchase a copy, click here.

Thanks also to Jacquie Lindsay (Claremont, Class of 1990) and Anna Mossie (Class of 2019) for playing in the ex-students vs current students tennis match. It was tough competition and the current students took out the Patricia Cahill Trophy!

Watch below a highlights video from the day.

Supergirl Week and Women of Influence Evening

Last week we celebrated International Women's Day with Supergirl Week activities organised by the SRC. This has become a significant week for the community to raise awareness and reveal the true meaning and power of being a girl in the 21st century. Special thanks to Bella Codsi, Class of 2013, who joined us for our Supergirl Week Assembly to share her reflection on 'Cracking the Code' as a woman in the tech industry.

We were also delighted to welcome back to Normanhurst our Women of Influence presenters, Kate Eastman AM SC (Class of 1984), Sarah Martin (nee Kinchington, Class of 1982), Heather Marano (Class of 2003) and Leana Scott (Class of 2018). It was such an inspirational evening hearing the stories and experiences from these ex-students and how their education has helped shaped their lives.

One of our presenters Sarah Martin, discussed her family journey with mental ill health and how that led to her writing and publishing her book 'Dear Psychosis' about their experience. You can visit her website to purchase a copy.

Careers Day

A big thank you to all our alumnae and special guests who participated in our Year 12 Careers Day at Northern Life Baptist Church on Thursday, 2 March. Our Year 12 students enjoyed the day of networking with professionals making waves across their fields. Thank you for helping inspire the next generation.

Oratory Coaches and Adjudicators Wanted!

Our Oratory program is going from strength to strength with students from all year groups signing on each year. There are many programs and competitions the girls participate in and we would love our wonderful alumnae to get on board as coaches and adjudicators. If you are interested in helping our Oratory teams please contact the Oratory Coordinator here. There are several positions available and we would love to see our team of ex-student coaches grow.

Reunions

Class of 1990

After three years of COVID delays, last month the class of 1990 enjoyed a lovely long lunch with old school friends at Mosman Rowers to celebrate their 30 year reunion. It was a joyous occasion celebrating 30 plus years of friendship. A very big thank you goes to Louise Walsh for leading her team of organisers to bring the event together, and to Jacquie Lindsay for the donation of a Loreto Normanhurst Cook book as a lucky door prize.
