In a display of professional collaboration, the second Normo Networking Evening held in October proved to be a success, following our inaugural event in June. Alumnae, senior students, and their parents gathered for an informal networking event that saw a variety of enriching conversations and invaluable connections.
The highlight of the evening was the insightful journey shared by Kara Greiner (Class of 1992), the principal solicitor of Kidman Legal, a boutique criminal law firm. Over the last 20 years Kara has represented clients charged with a wide range of offences including murder, preparation for terrorism, child sex tourism, drug importation and corporate fraud.
From August 2012 till February 2017 Kara acted for Lian Bin Xie in one of the longest running criminal trials with a single defendant in Australian criminal history (“the Lin Family murders”). Kara has appeared in jurisdictions ranging from the Children’s Court to the Supreme Court, coronial inquests, the ICAC and the Parole Authority.
In addition to practicing law, Kara has had diverse experiences in the media from being a weekend presenter on triple j, several years hosting FBI’s interview show ‘Out of the Box,’ and as a TV reviewer on Radio National. As a screenwriter Kara has written for TV shows and had a television show and film script optioned by production companies.
The evening's success in 2023 is credited to all attendees, who collectively made the Normo Networking evenings a memorable and impactful night. As our Normo community continues to strengthen its bonds, these evenings stand as a testament to the enduring spirit of collaboration and support within this remarkable alumnae network.
We are excited to announce the upcoming Normo Networking Evenings for 2024. This series of gatherings promises to provide alumnae with further opportunities to connect, learn, and grow both personally and professionally.
