Events and Reunions |
It may have been a chilly winter’s day, but spirits were high upon the return of our annual Loreto Lunch & Lyrics event last week. We welcomed our ‘Golden Jubilarians’ – alumnae marking 50 years or more since their graduation – back to Loreto Normanhurst. This year, we were joined for the first time by members from the Classes of 1970 and 1971.
The morning began with music in the chapel and a welcome from Ms Marina Ugonotti, Principal. From Elton John to Debussy, our jubilarians were treated to a range of delightful performances from Year 12 students completing Music 1, Music 2 or Music Extension for their HSC. Special thanks to Sarah Ashton, Acting Head of Music, for coordinating the program and supporting the students, as well as to our accompanists, Mr Patrick Muldrew, Ms Karen Bruce and Mrs Virginia Matcham.
Commencing with an introduction and prayer spoken by Sam Wegner (’89), President of the Ex-Students’ Association, we then enjoyed a leisurely lunch in the Reception Room, followed by tea, coffee and afternoon tea.
We were thrilled to be able to gift our newest Golden Jubilarians with a Loreto Normanhurst wine glass to honour the milestone. Many of these alumnae were also in attendance at the recent Class of 1971 Reunion in Mudgee, about which you can read more here.
Thank you to those ex-students who were able to join us for a lovely celebration of Loreto friendship.
