Generations Morning Tea

Friday, 17 March

Loreto Normanhurst has a proud tradition of generations of families entrusting their daughters and, for many years also their sons, to our school for their education.

To celebrate these generations of connection we warmly invite any parent or relative of a current student who has attended a Loreto school to join us on Friday, 17 March for our Generations Morning Tea.

If you are one of our alumnae or your parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle or godparent attended any Loreto school in the world, we would love to have you join us for Communion and morning tea in the Reception Room to celebrate the generations of connection that run through our community.

If you would like to attend, please RSVP here or contact Lauren Kirkby, Community Relations and Events Manager via events@loretonh.nsw.edu.au.

Offered in partnership with the Broken Bay Institute, the seminars feature leading academics and theologians from around the world. The theme of each seminar is unique, with the opportunity to ask questions and focus on action and the future of women in the Church.

We are delighted to invite all members of the Loreto Normanhurst community to join us virtually for the first of these events on Wednesday, 29 March.

Weaving through the Wilderness
The path to accepting mental health

Wednesday, 29 March
This is a livestreamed event.

This seminar will explore mental health and the ways in which people have an equal opportunity to access supportive environments. Hosted by Cristina Lledo Comez and presented by Jessica Coblentz, Assistant Professor of Religious Studies and Theology at Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana USA.

Click here to register to receive the livestream link.

Jessica Coblentz is an assistant professor in the Department of Religious Studies and Theology at Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana (USA), where her teaching and research focus on Catholic systematic theology, feminist theologies, and mental health in theological perspective. She is the author of Dust in the Blood: A Theology of Life with Depression, and the co-editor of The Human in a Dehumanizing World: Re-examining Theological Anthropology and Its Implications, both published earlier this year. In addition to her contributions to numerous academic journals and essay collections, her writing has been featured in popular venues such the National Catholic Reporter, US Catholic, America, and Give Us This Day, where she is a regular contributor. Before working as a theologian, Coblentz served for several years in Roman Catholic national and diocesan religious education, parish young adult ministry, and college campus ministry. She earned her PhD in systematic theology from Boston College.

We hope these Seeking Truth seminars will stimulate discussion, highlight global perspectives and bring an alertness and voice to women’s experience of the Church. Please save the following dates for exciting storytelling and discussions to come later in the year.
