Hear from Penny at our upcoming Normo Networking Evening on Wednesday, 14 June, where she will be sharing her career accomplishments and personal journey to creating an equitable and inclusive Australia.
Penny Graham, a distinguished alumna of Loreto Normanhurst graduating in 1984, has forged a remarkable career in global infrastructure and investment across Australia, Asia, and Europe. Today, she serves as a non-executive Director on various commercial and not-for-profit boards, making a significant impact in multiple sectors.
With a deep commitment to creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive corporate Australia, Penny is Chair of CareerSeekers, and focuses on reintergrating refugees into professional careers upon their arrival in Australia. In this role, she champions the mission of empowering refugees to rebuild their lives and contribute to the Australian workforce, ultimately fostering social and economic inclusion. CareerSeekers has partnered with 80 major employers in Australia, resulting in over 1,000 employment outcomes. Speaking about the impact of the organisation, Penny emphasises how the first internship or job acts as a catalyst for successful settlement in Australia, benefiting not only the individuals but also their communities. She highlights the resilience, loyalty, and hard work demonstrated by the program's participants, who bring immense value to any workforce.
Penny also holds the role of Chair at ALTRAC, the prominent company responsible for owning and operating Sydney's light rail system. Her leadership ensures the smooth functioning of this vital urban transport network, facilitating efficient and sustainable mobility for the city's residents and visitors.
Penny also serves as Chair of the NorthWest roads group, overseeing the operation and management of the M7 motorway and Northconnex tunnels. In this capacity, she plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of transportation infrastructure, enhancing connectivity and supporting economic development.
With an international perspective gained from living and working in London, Singapore, and Sydney, Penny brings a wealth of expertise and a global outlook to her various board roles. Her extensive career in global infrastructure and investment has honed her strategic acumen and deepened her understanding of complex business landscapes.
