Because high school was an important part of your life...

School reunions are events full of love, laughter and memories, however some former students report feelings of apprehension before these events. Barbara Harvey, Class of 1997, has penned some inspiration to her cohort on why attending your school reunion is a good idea!

It's 3 days to go to RSVP and you're sitting on the fence...

So, you’re sitting on the fence? You are not sure whether to come? The idea of the reunion sounds fun, you want to come, but it feels a little hard, a little confronting and the idea of staying at home watching a show with uber eats seems like the safer option. We get it, and we hear it if this is you, you’re not alone. But what if you did come? What if nights like these are significant signposts in life and moments not to miss even if they feel a little uncomfortable at first? What if walking in is the hardest part... What if a conversation with a person you never thought you would speak to is great and you realise it was worth it just for that?

It’s several years since we all left Normo. It’s that many years since we were 17. So, you know what that means? We have collectively experienced that many years of joy, heartache, grief, loss, mistakes, and regrets. Yes, there’s been romance and partnerships but there’s also been separations and romance never found. There’s been babies and families but there’s been loss and families yearned for. And yes, we have some high-rolling career women in the midst, but some chose a different path and focus. There is no right or wrong, just different. Take the load off and know that it will be encouraged to talk beyond families, work & postcodes.

Our reunion is as much about looking forward as it is looking back.

When you walk in you will see the organising crew, we are the safety blanket, and we have plans to make it welcoming and fun. So, trust in the experience and have a think about coming off that fence.

Class of 1967

On Friday, 14 October the Class of 1967 had their 55-year reunion at the Kirribilli Club. There were 25 in attendance. It was loud, funny, informative, joyful, and lots of reminiscing, so much so, they are now meeting up every year!

Class of 1992

30-year reunion.
