Alumnae News

We were very grateful to the alumnae from the Class of 2016 who shared their experiences of life after school at our Year 12 Careers Info Day. Thanks to Angelique Nelis, Penny Ryan, Claudia Spackman, Katherine Beer and Samantha Kurth for their generosity, insight and words of advice for our Year 12 students. We are always delighted to welcome ex-students back onsite and to hear about their achievements and chosen paths since graduation.

Angelique, School Captain in 2016, will soon finish her degree in Law and International Security. Angelique was recently recognised as a Top 100 Future Leader by Australian Financial Review and GradConnection, a remarkable achievement.

After graduating, Penny commenced a Psychology degree before transferring into a Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Advanced Studies. She also works with a National Insurance Risk and Solution provider as an HR and Recruitment Coordinator.

Katherine worked as a product analyst after graduation, before studying a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws, majoring in International Business. Alongside her studies, Katherine has worked as a legal administrator and is completing a clerkship.

Claudia spent two years as a station hand in the Northern Territory upon finishing school. She is now studying a Bachelor of Creative Industries, majoring in Stage and Screen Design as well as Graphic Design, which she has also studied overseas in Cardiff.

Samantha is currently studying a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) (Honours) and Diploma of Engineering Practice. She has also completed a Diploma of Languages (Mandarin), as well as undergraduate internships and mentor programs including as an undergraduate Geotechnical Engineer and with WestConnex construction.

We know that Year 12 benefited greatly from hearing the advice of these impressive Loreto women, who were their Year 12 buddies when they were in Year 7! This alumnae panel was part of an extensive program run by the Careers Office; Year 12 students also heard from expert speakers on various topics including Early Entry, ‘what is my Plan B,’ Alternatives to University and Interview Skills.

If you would like to be contacted as a speaker or mentor for Careers events, please select the Mentoring option when creating your Normo Network profile.
