The twins who both attended Loreto Normanhurst in Sydney’s north-west, scored near perfect ATARs of 99.30 and 99.65 making them amongst the top achievers across the state and leading to recognition on the states All-Round Achievers list. Despite near identical ATARs, the twins excelled across almost entirely different courses, with the only jointly studied subjects including HSC Drama and HSC English Advanced.

Part of the Loreto boarding community since Year 7, the Cluff twins returned to their rural property in Dunedoo to study remotely during the COVID lockdown. Despite the challenges of online learning on a remote rural property, the twins credit their success to each other, saying:

“We studied a lot together during the year and that was our key to success, collaboration. It was really hard but at least we had each other.”

Georgia and Charlotte Cluff were able to draw on the dedicated support of the Loreto Normanhurst school community and teaching staff on their way to their outstanding ATAR results. Both girls have plans to study Arts and Law at the University of Sydney next year.

Speaking on the impressive results received by the Class of 2021, Loreto Normanhurst Principal, Ms Marina Ugonotti said:

“We are immensely proud to join the Class of 2021 in celebrating their impressive achievements in the HSC. These results are a testament to the cohort’s generous collaboration, hard work, grit, and balanced approach to their education in a year like no other. We wish them well as they bring their individual gifts and Loreto education to the world, responding to the needs of their times and taking their next steps as women of strength, kindness and action.”

The Cluff twins add to a legacy of strong academic results for Loreto Normanhurst, with the school proudly celebrating 7 Top Achievers and 16 All-Round Achievers in today’s HSC results. Loreto Normanhurst ranked 38th overall in NSW and 6th among Catholic schools, with the incredible results supported by the school’s award-winning Loreto Normanhurst Student Growth Model (LNSGM).

The Model emphasises student collaboration, creative and critical thinking, digital capabilities, adaptability, and independence through a diverse array of learning experiences inside and outside the classroom. Fostering the development of Loreto Normanhurst students into agile and resilient thinkers who are prepared to navigate an ever-changing global landscape.

Thank you to News Breakfast, ABC Sydney and the Daily Telegraph for featuring the girls fantastic achievements!
